Our board meet with the cleaning manager on more than one occasion and raised concerns about the state of our buildings. If they do not improve the quality of their services we will terminate their agreement.

Who are the cleaners we pay the money to? Can’t we change them and hire responsible people? It is 7th of July and nothing changed from June 17th when the first posting regarding this issue appeared on the website. Who is in charge?

Comment on Rooftop Patio Project by Kevin Rajpaulsingh https://www.yrcc878.com/rooftop-patio-project/comment-page-2/#comment-51 Thu, 25 Jun 2015 18:31:22 +0000 http://yrcc878.com/?p=5095#comment-51 Clearly there are owners who want the rooftop patios and those who do not. The reasonable and rationale evaluation of the pros and cons is what will define us as a community. As such, the views of all owners need to be addressed, and not just those who live on the PH levels. The views of PH level owners, albeit valued, do not automatically usurp the views of all other owners. We are a community of 106 units with six floors and as such the collective majority view is what should be accepted…

To that end, based on the feedback to our survey and further to the meeting on May 30 with the owners to discuss the patio project, the patio rejuvenation project is on hold until further notice.

the YRCC878 Board will be discussing this at the next SF Board meeting on June 30 and demanding definitive action.

External building cleaning issues are also a SF issue which we are constantly following up on. Internal building cleaning issues will be discussed with our building cleaners immediately.

Comment on Rooftop Patio Project by Hoy Tom Jang https://www.yrcc878.com/rooftop-patio-project/comment-page-2/#comment-47 Sun, 21 Jun 2015 08:15:50 +0000 http://yrcc878.com/?p=5095#comment-47 This issue has nothing to do with being flexible, it has to do with using common sense. If you really wanted to upgrade the standards of the building , you would have to spend well over $ 100,000 on a true rooftop patio , a few park benches and flowers is not going to increase the value of your property and neither will a luxury rooftop patio.
The best selling feature of these condo buildings have always been privacy and quiet atmosphere. That will certainly be compromised for the penthouse condos. The most negative aspect is the high maintenance fees and they will increase, they can be kept at same levels for some time, but fees will increase. Let’s not waste any money.

Also, looking at the way garbage is thrown into the garbage cans on the garage level entrance to the building, looks like certain owners are not that much into cleanliness. How will that translate into keeping this patio clean?

Lastly, I had to chuckle. I did not think you could express emotion via email.
So I inadvertently pressed the CAPS Lock key, I didn’t know you could yell via email. How to express sorrow or empathy or joy? Let’s not be too petty.

Comment on Garbage at the main entrance by Sasha Zibreg https://www.yrcc878.com/garbage-at-main-entrance/comment-page-1/#comment-45 Thu, 18 Jun 2015 21:54:14 +0000 http://yrcc878.com/?p=4982#comment-45 Hello Mila,

I can comment only on behalf of our corporation. We have a monthly schedule to power wash the garbage containers that belong to our corporation (next schedule day is July 10) along with our garbage rooms in both buildings.

However, your complaint should be addressed to the Shared Facility manager Mark Mak since the fenced garbage area in both building and its content is the sole responsibility of the Shared Facility (it costs our corporation over $260.000 a year) and in particular the Superintendent Assistant Nonilon Basbas.

The garbage disposal fenced area is a serious health hazard and I am surprised that the health inspection is not taking preventive measures since two restaurants are just a few feet away. Our board of directors raised this issue on numerous occasions at our shared facility meetings. A number of owners also complained about the same issue but unfortunately all complaints fall on deaf ears.

There was a short story on TV the other week about how they cut their garbage bill…(yes we pay for the removal), becasue of the way they sort their garbage. They compost and use the dirt on their gardens. A different way of thinking. Heavens knows we have enough garden space to use it here.

Unfortunately, our building is not up to current codes, as far as base building construction and accessibility issues are concerned.

I would be interested to know what the plans are to move forward with this phased implementation and the changes to the OBC JANUARY 2015? Can a tab be added to the webpage to explain these things? As an owner I would like to see a list of our building issues and status notes listed beside them, as they are resolved. Maybe that is too much to ask?

Failing that can the Board please post the date, time and location of the next board meeting please?

Happy Summer!!

People who purchased the Penthouse units beside the CA patio, saw it on the plan, I am sure they knew it was there and bought anyway.

There are people who are beside the garbage closets on each floor who have to deal with people coming and going all day and night and also the odours and noise of the metal door.

There are people who bought units right beside the dumpsters outside and they have to endure the sounds of the truck every pick up day. Where is the perfect unit? There is no perfect world.

Anyone who is below upper balconies get trash and ashes on their decks and furniture…I lived at Queens Quay and I know people with huge decks that moved out because of this problem. They thought they had bought this wonderful space and there were things falling from the sky all the time. Even lit cigarettes.

If you have not done your research, then buyer beware.
