Problem in the garbage chute rooms

Thank you to the building management for cleaning the chutes, that is important.

However….

I have a problem with the 3rd world situation, in the garbage chute rooms, on each floor. The last time I checked we were all paying our CA fees.

The rooms were designed back in the day when everything was thrown down the chute, and now today we are ‘recycling’ most of it. Therefore the chute situation is not handling the garbage. Most of it sites on the floor of the chute room. This past weekend I could not open the door for the amount of refuse behind the door on the floor.

What is wrong here, is that we are not handling the recycling materials. This needs another solution.

We need holding shelves for the items so that they are not left on the floor. A simple racking system of shallow wire racking would give us more space to stack the stuff and keep it off the floor. I don’t stack my garbage on the floor and the building management should not be allowing this situation to happen either.

The garbage contract should require that this is removed every day whether or not there is a stat holiday or not. These rooms are not adequately large enough to handle the flow of recyclable.

And I would also like to know how to upload a photo because the one I took today of this filthy situation, is evidence of the problem.

Am I the only one who cares about cleanliness?

Thank you

Heather
