Garbage at the main entrance 7398

Garbage in front of the main entrance

The owner at building D took this photo today complaining about the garbage in front of building 7398. The fact is that on Sunday we do not have a cleaner on site and that extreme wind is blowing the garbage all over the place. However, this photo presents the state of our entrance most of the time, even when there is no extreme weather conditions and during the week days.

Please keep in mind that any cleaning of our facilities outside of the building premises are the responsibility of the Shared Facility management and in particular the Superintendent Assistant Nonilon Babas.

To address issues concerning the Shared Facility, please feel free to contact the shared facility property manager Mark Mak at 905-886-3855 or email him at [email protected]

  1. Good Evening Neighbors
I have just submitted an email to our management regarding the pileup of garbage this weekend at the entrance to our building. I’m not sure how to post photos here or if it us even possible without authorization. Also I have photos of our Garbage room on the first floor, here people continue to put bags and boxes of recycling. We now have larger blue bins in the room but still when it is full people put their dirty, disgusting unwashed smelly recycling on the floor. We the residents must take some pride in our building. Large blue bins and garbage disposal is located at the south side door of the complex.
We have a superintendent and an assistant in this building. Why do they only work Monday to Friday(executive hours), can we not stagger the hours so that one of them is working the weekend?
    Let’s smarten up people.

  2. I agree that the garbage closets are not handling the amount of recyclables…Studies should be done as to how other condos are handling this without the sorting machine on the chutes. There was a short story on TV the other week about how they cut their garbage bill…(yes we pay for the removal), becasue of the way they sort their garbage. They compost and use the dirt on their gardens. A different way of thinking. Heavens knows we have enough garden space to use it here.

Unfortunately, our building is not up to current codes, as far as base building construction and accessibility issues are concerned.

I would be interested to know what the plans are to move forward with this phased implementation and the changes to the OBC JANUARY 2015? Can a tab be added to the webpage to explain these things? As an owner I would like to see a list of our building issues and status notes listed beside them, as they are resolved. Maybe that is too much to ask?

Failing that can the Board please post the date, time and location of the next board meeting please?

    Happy Summer!!

  3. Hello Mila,

I can comment only on behalf of our corporation. We have a monthly schedule to power wash the garbage containers that belong to our corporation (next schedule day is July 10) along with our garbage rooms in both buildings.

However, your complaint should be addressed to the Shared Facility manager Mark Mak since the fenced garbage area in both building and its content is the sole responsibility of the Shared Facility (it costs our corporation over $260.000 a year) and in particular the Superintendent Assistant Nonilon Basbas.

The garbage disposal fenced area is a serious health hazard and I am surprised that the health inspection is not taking preventive measures since two restaurants are just a few feet away. Our board of directors raised this issue on numerous occasions at our shared facility meetings. A number of owners also complained about the same issue but unfortunately all complaints fall on deaf ears.
